Today we did a worksheet going over Point Slope Form for extra practice.  I sat with each of you individually to go over the mistakes you made on your quiz so you could see where you may be making mistakes.

HOMEWORK:  Finish the worksheet.  I will give another quiz tomorrow to review Point Slope Form.

Feb 15th

I promise to put more effort into keeping my blog updated.  I always leave the room right after class so Ms VonBremen's class can start and then I forget or get caught up in vice principal stuff.

Today we looked at an equation if we are given a point and the slope.

We also looked at changing an equation in Point Slope Form into Slope Intercept Form

Here's another example, but with fractions ;)

Graphing using Slope Intercept Form

Parallel lines have the same slope

Perpendicular lines have slopes that are negative reciprocals

HOMEWORK:  PG 349  # 8,9,11 & 16.

Feb 7th

1. We played "Ordered Pair Battleship" to refresh ourselves with labeling points (x,y)  

• Tristan was the 2017 Math 10 Champion - sinking all 5 of Heather's ships

1. Yesterday we spent some time seeing if we could "discover" a new method for finding slope.  Today we reviewed it and did a homework sheet finding slope by graph and using ordered pairs.
2. When finding slope using two points, it doesn't matter which point you start from, as long as you use the same point to start for both numerator and denominator.

Today we reviewed different graphs and how to show Domain and Range.

We also reviewed evaluating and solving for x & y

We also reviewed using function notation when evaluating.
